Duties/Responsibilities:
The East Haddam Ethics Commission is charged with the review and investigation of the conduct of Town Officials and employees, elected and/or appointed, paid or unpaid (including committees and commissions) who are not in keeping with the Town’s Code of Ethical Conduct Policy.
The Commission’s scope is restricted to the Code of Ethical Conduct Policy which includes, but is not limited to Conflicts of Interest (please read the Code In its entirety). The East Haddam Code of Ethical Conduct Policy and the Ethics Commission help to make sure administration of public policy is free from threats, favoritism, undue influence, and all forms of impropriety so that the confidence of the public is not eroded. The Ethics Commission does not evaluate or provide advice or direction on moral issues.
Any person may submit a Complaint Petition. If you are unsure if your concern falls within the scope, you are welcome to submit a complaint for review by the Commission.
