Homelessness Liaison

Selectwoman Tanya Bourgoin (860-304-2331 / tanya.bourgoin@easthaddam.org) is the Homelessness Liaison of the Town of East Haddam to the Community Access Network to partner with them to ensure that residents have the support they need if they are on the verge of homelessness.

The first step for an individual or a family who is about to experience homelessness or housing insecurity is for them to call 211, who will then put the resident in contact with the local Coordinated Access Network (CAN).  Through the CAN, service providers work together in a standardized and streamlined process to help individuals and families access assistance.  The primary goal of the CAN is to help communities focus on readily ending each person’s homelessness by connecting them with appropriate housing and resources as quickly as possible.  To learn more about the Coordinated Access Networks visit https://cceh.org/work/coordinated-access/.
