Unlawful Restrictive Covenants

Pursuant to Public Act 21-173 of the Connecticut General Statutes the Office of Policy and Management has provided the following forms:

An unlawful restrictive covenant refers to a provision in an instrument affecting the title to real property that purports to restrict ownership or occupancy of such real property on the basis of race.
When such unlawful restrictive covenant exists, the property owner may file the above forms with the Clerk at no charge.  The first form identifies the unlawful restrictive covenant, the affidavit renounces it. There are no fees associated with the recording of these documents upon the Land Records.
